After months and months of glaze development, I have finally gotten a consistent, vibrant burgundy red for the electric kiln. Over the last two years, my passion for glaze development grew and grew and I was always mixing, tweaking, and retweaking glazes. It is so hard for me to be satisfied with a glaze. Is it the right color? Is it glossy enough? Too glossy? Did I add too much flux? Not enough silica? The chemical possibilities are endless. However, I finally became satisfied with a glaze. It is a high gloss burgundy that breaks cream on edges. I love it. How pleasing :) When used a bit heavier, it will stay mainly burgundy. However, a thinner application gives me cream colored lines fading in and out.
